Purpose

This paper sets out the position for the Department for Social Development.  It must be emphasised that the Executive’s proposals, and subsequently this Department’s proposed allocations, are draft at this stage and could be subject to change in the coming weeks.  The Department considers that the draft Budget requires change to do more to protect those in need and the funding of frontline functions provided across the Department.
