Warm Homes consultation

The Department for Social Development has prepared a consultation document outlining proposals for revisions to the Warm Homes Scheme. The purpose of the Scheme is to improve domestic energy efficiency and therefore reduce energy consumption in eligible private housing. The document reflects the recommendations in the 2008 value for money study on the Warm Homes Scheme published by the Northern Ireland Audit Office. The report broadly recognised the value of the Scheme but recommended a number of improvements to make it a more effective tool in alleviating fuel poverty.
