About Us
The Information & Support Service provides impartial guidance and support to help parents make informed choices about child maintenance. This new information service is operated by the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Division in addition to the assessment, collection and enforcement services offered by the statutory maintenance service.
Who we can help
- Parents separated from each other and responsible for the main day-to-day care of a child, or
- Parents living apart from their child and not the main day-to-day carer; and
- Guardians, relatives and anyone concerned about a child or family living apart.
We can provide information about
- The options available for arranging child maintenance.
- How to start putting a child maintenance arrangement in place.
- Ways that you might negotiate with the other parent.
- How child maintenance can be calculated and what you might pay or receive.
- Practical steps forward and useful organisations that can help.
