Appointment of 3 Members to The Board of The Northern Ireland Housing Executive
This is an extended competition which was originally advertised in June 2009, previous applicants should not apply
The Board of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive is responsible to the Department for Social Development for the efficient, effective and economic delivery of the Housing Executive’s housing services. It determines the Housing Executive’s policies, within its overall aims and objectives, and makes decisions on operational and organisational strategies.
The Department for Social Development is seeking to appoint 3 new members. The term of appointment will be for 5 years and may be renewable for a second term. Time commitment amounts to around 1 day per month and the posts are remunerated at £6,740 per annum plus travel and subsistence costs incurred on Board business.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:-
- an understanding of the overall aims of Government policies in Northern Ireland as they affect housing issues;
- an understanding and ability to interpret and translate how strategies, plans and programmes of
- a range of organisations can assist to achieve the aims of government policies;
- a well developed understanding of Corporate Governance issues and strategic planning;
- the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a challenging environment ; and
- good communication skills.
Short listing criteria based on financial management and business planning may be applied in that order.

Bank Square Regeneration Project
On behalf of the Department for Social Development (DSD), RPS Planning and Environment Ltd. have produced draft plans for the redesign of Bank Square/Bank Street/Berry Street/King Street in the Westside area of Belfast City Centre.
The plans can be viewed in the Berry Street Presbyterian Church Hall (adjacent to Bank Square, accessed from Chapel Lane) from Monday 15th February to Friday 19th February between 10.00 am and 5.30pm. All interested parties are invited to view the proposals and to comment on them, either at the venue or in more detail to:

The Department for Social Development is to let for grazing or cutting:
- approximately 177 acres in the Antrim area for the period 1 April 2010 to 31October 2010
- approximately 258 acres in the Ballymena area for period 1 April 2010 to 31October 2010
NOTE: The tendered amount will be paid in advance i.e. on or before Friday 26 March 2010. The highest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
