National Postal DisputeBenefit Payment Advice
Customers whose benefit is paid directly in to their bank or Post Office card account are unaffected by the current disruption to postal services and will continue to receive their payments as normal.
Until further notice customers who receive their benefit payment by cheque through the post should arrange to collect their payment direct from their nearest Post Office. This may not necessarily be the Post Office they normally use. Anyone who is unsure of their nearest Post Office should telephone their benefit paying Branch for advice.
Customers must ensure that they bring proof of identity with them when collecting their cheque from the Post Office. The proof of identity that customers use when cashing their cheques can be used when collecting it.
The Social Security Agency will issue further advice should there be any change to these arrangements.
