Housing Benefit - Disabled Person's Allowance
If you are, or someone else in your household is, a person with a disability, and you meet the conditions of this scheme, you may be entitled to a reduction of 25% in your domestic rate bill.
Your property must have facilities to meet the needs of a person with a disability who lives in your home. Examples of the types of facilities that qualify are:-
- a room, other than a kitchen, bathroom or toilet, which is mainly used by the person with a disability
- an additional kitchen for the person with a disability
- an additional toilet for the person with a disability; or
- sufficient floor space for the person with the disability to use a wheelchair.
There must be a clear link between how the property has been adapted and the disability.
