Housing Benefit - Disabled Person's Allowance

If you are, or someone else in your household is, a person with a disability, and you meet the conditions of this scheme, you may be entitled to a reduction of 25% in your domestic rate bill.

  • an additional kitchen for the person with a disability
  • an additional toilet for the person with a disability; or
  • sufficient floor space for the person with the disability to use a wheelchair.
There must be a clear link between how the property has been adapted and the disability.
To apply for the Disabled Person's Allowance, the person who pays the rates on the property needs to fill in an application form. To get an application form you can:-
