War Pensioner's Mobility Supplement
War Pensioner's Mobility Supplement is tax-free and is paid to a War Disablement Pensioner who is unable or virtually unable to walk due to a disablement which has been assessed at 40% or more, and for which they receive a basic War Disablement Pension.
There is only one rate payable.
A War Disablement Pensioner would qualify if:
- they have suffered double leg amputations through or above the ankles; or
- the disability for which they get a War Pension is the only or main reason why they are unable to walk, or why their walking ability is of little use and this condition must be likely to last for six months or more; or
- the disability for which they get a pension is the only or main reason why the effort of trying to walk could endanger their life or seriously damage their health; or
- the disability for which they get a pension arises from blindness assessed at more than 80% and deafness assessed at not less than 80%, the combined effects of which are such that they are unable, without the assistance of another person, to walk to a particular destination while out of doors.

How long can it be paid for?
