If the customer and their partner are under 60 years old a Community Care Grant will be reduced by the amount of any joint capital they have over £500. If the customer or their partner is aged 60 or over a Community Care Grant will be reduced by the amount of any joint capital they have over £1,000.

If the customer and their partner are under 60 years old a Budgeting Loan will be reduced by the amount of any joint capital they have over £1,000. If the customer or their partner is aged 60 or over a Budgeting Loan will be reduced by the amount of any joint capital they have over £2,000.

The customer does not have to be in receipt of any benefit to apply for a Crisis Loan. If they apply for a Crisis Loan, the full amount of all available resources is taken into account against the loan applied for, including: - Capital assets;
- Funds in a bank and/or building society accounts;
- Credit facilities;
- Money available through an existing loan or overdraft;
- Other benefits (excluding DLA Mobility).
