Job Grant

Job Grant consists of a two-tiered rate of payment for people who move from benefits to work. Payment of £100 for single people and couples without children, or £250 for all lone parents and couples with children.
To qualify for a Job Grant you :
  • must be aged 18 years or over,
  • must have moved into work of 16 hours a week or 24 hours per week for a partner, and,
  • must have a job that is expected to last 5 weeks or more, and
  • must have been in receipt of one of / or a combination of the following for a continuous period of 26 weeks or more:
    Jobseeker's Allowance
    Income Support
    Incapacity Benefit
    Severe Disablement Allowance
    New Deal / Steps to Work (when payments are based on JSA Contributory, JSA Income Based, Income Support, Incapacity Benefit or Severe Disablement Allowance)
  • must not have received a Job Grant payment in the previous 26 weeks
For a Job Grant to be payable when it is your partner who is moving into full time work the claim to benefit must be ending.
