Work commences on Phase 1 - 24 July 2007

Work has commenced in the Cornmarket area as part of Phase 1 of the Streets Ahead project.

The scheme will use high quality natural stone paving materials, new street furniture and better street lighting to give the area more character and make it easier for everyone to use.

The Departments contractor Farrens will be working closely with Multi - Development UK to ensure that the public realm works complement the look and feel of Victoria Square and are complete in time for the official opening of Victoria Square in the spring of 2008.
