The detailed design work for this area is due to start in June 2007 with work on the ground commencing May 2008. The work will take account of the needs of people on foot as well as motorists. We expect that the function of these streets will not change much.
This area has important routes into the city centre and work will balance the regeneration of the east of the city by continuing the regeneration of the City Centre into the west.
A number of projects have been planned to make areas for gathering, meeting and sitting.
