Laganside Development sites

The Department for Social Development has responsibility for overseeing the completion of the remaining development sites within the Laganside area.

The Soloist development

The Soloist is a mixed use development designed by award-winning Norwegian architect Niels Torp and when complete will comprise offices and commercial space on the ground floor.
 

Lanyon Towers

Lanyon Towers is a mixed use development and when complete will comprise of offices, residential units, bar/restaurant and basement car parking.

 

The Obel development

The Obel Development at Donegall Quay is currently under construction and will comprise of three blocks including a 28 storey landmark building overlooking the river. The completed development will provide residential accommodation, offices, leisure facilities and underground car parking.
 

St Annes's Square development

The first phase of the St Anne’s Square development including a hotel and a multi level car park both opened for business on 6 April 2009. The remainder of this mixed use development comprises of office, retail, leisure and residential units around the piazza was completed in December 09. The Piazza provides a further shared neutral space in the heart of Belfast’s historic Cathedral Quarter.
 

The MAC

Due to open in early 2012 The MAC will be six stories high and will house two theatres, three visual art galleries, dance studios, rehearsal rooms, offices and a bar restaurant. This project will create entertainment, promote education and inspire creativity for the people of the city and beyond.
 

The Boat development

Due to complete in early 2010, ‘The Boat’ is a prestigious new mixed use development located adjacent to Custom House Square, with frontages to Queens Square and Donegall Quay. This innovative development will comprise of offices  and residential accommodation with ground and first floor bar/restaurant facilities. Belfast’s riverside continues to be the focus for business, leisure and cultural activity.
 
The Laganside area is a centrepiece for business within the city and provides a ‘place of opportunity for all’.
