Deane Morrice (Chairman)
Deane graduated from Robert Gordon’s, Aberdeen, with a Diploma in Commerce in Business Administration. He trained for the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) accountancy qualification at Aberdeen and Edinburgh Councils and held senior audit and accountancy posts at Lothian Regional Council and Falkirk District Council before moving to Scottish Gas as Development Manager in 1980. He was appointed the Deputy Secretary of NILGOSC in October 1982 and was the Chief Executive and Secretary from July 1999, until his retirement on 31st October 2011.
Deane chaired the Steering Committee, which set up the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) Group in Northern Ireland and was the founding Chairman between 1996 & 1999. He plays a leading part in the ACCA, having been President of the Ulster Members’ Network from 2002-04, President of ACCA Ireland from 2007-08, the Northern Ireland Representative on the ACCA International Assembly from 2006-08 and was appointed an ACCA Ambassador in 2009.
He is a Board Member of Queen’s University Investment Committee, an independent member of the Audit Committee of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and a Board Member of the Northern Ireland Medical & Dental Training Agency.
Deane was awarded the MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in June 2009.
Deane has been a member of the NICIFC Advisory Committee since 2005 and was appointed Chairman from 1 August 2010.
Philip Keers
Philip is currently Head of Projects at NCB Stockbrokers in Dublin, a position he has held for the past 7 years. Previously, he was employed as Investment Manager in the Belfast office of NCB Stockbrokers. Prior to returning to Northern Ireland, Philip was Head of European Equities with General Accident plc for 6 years.
He attained a Bachelor of Administrative Studies (Hons) degree from the University of Dundee, is an Associate Chartered Financial Analyst and holds the PRINCE2 (Foundation Level) qualification in Project Management.
Philip was appointed to the NICIFC Advisory Committee on 1st March 2009.
Pamela Wilson
Pamela lives in Holywood, County Down. She is a Director with RSM McClure Watters and works with Lanyon Financial Planning where she manages a portfolio of corporate and individual investments. Pamela is also a part-time lecturer at Belfast Metropolitan School of Business teaching the CISI Financial Regulation course.
Pamela holds a postgraduate diploma in law and a postgraduate diploma in legal practice from University of Sheffield, a Certificate for Trustees from the Pensions Management Institute and is a Chartered Financial Planner and an Associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Pamela was appointed to the NICIFC Advisory Committee on 1st March 2009.
Juliana Sloan
Ms Juliana Sloan is a Director at Juliana Sloan Associates and lives in Belfast. She is Director of Juliana Sloan Associates, Professional Networking Consultancy and has over 20 years experience working in financial services. Juliana holds an HND in Business Administration from Greenwich University London. She does not hold any other public appointments.
Juliana was appointed to the NICIFC Advisory Committee on 1st August 2010.
